Years ago I read a 'science' investigation. The key to avoiding measles complications was 2 fold. Maternal nutrition in pregnancy and child nutrition. So long as a child was well nourished before during and after measles there were no risks or complications. Before the days of wide access to supplements and nutritious meant home cooking.
Can't say I've seen any maternal nutrition campaigns or home cooking lessons...or budgeting for that matter. Simple effective solutions.
