...but vaccination exemptions should not exist!
Where has this idea of vaccination ‘exemptions’ come from?
People are supposed to be giving their voluntary informed consent for vaccination, or opting to decline the intervention if they so wish. So how can there be exemptions to not have a vaccination?
Practitioners are legally and ethically obligated to obtain voluntary informed consent for vaccination, it is not within a practitioner’s personal gift to ‘grant’ a vaccination exemption to anyone.
This is a very serious matter because many people have been subjected to vaccination mandates, and led to believe there are no ‘exemptions’.
What a mess! The Australian government must clarify the situation re ‘exemptions’ because the Australian government has also confirmed:
“Informed consent should be obtained for every COVID-19 vaccination, as per usual consent procedures for other vaccinations.”
See below my email to Australian Health Minister Mark Butler on this matter, in regard to the case of GP Mark Hobart, who has been suspended for issuing Covid-19 vaccination exemptions.
Email to Mark Butler, 20 November 2023:
Mark Butler, general practitioner Mark Hobart has been suspended by AHPRA since November 2021 for issuing Covid-19 vaccination exemption medical certificates.
According to the Supreme Court of Victoria document linked to on the AHPRA website, Mark Hobart is suspended while the Medical Board of Australia:
completes investigations of a number of notifications received in relation to him. Many of those notifications relate to COVID-19 vaccination exemption medical certificates issued by Dr Hobart in 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was also a concern that Dr Hobart may have been involved in publishing incorrect or misleading information about COVID-19 and the public health response to it.
Mark Butler this is an extraordinary situation! Mark Hobart has been suspended for two years for giving exemptions for Covid-19 vaccination, when there shouldn't even be Covid-19 vaccination exemptions!
Health practitioners are legally and ethically obligated to obtain voluntary informed consent before every Covid-19 vaccination, it's not within a practitioner's personal gift to 'grant' a vaccination exemption to anyone.
This is a bizarre situation. Mark Hobart is being punished for issuing vaccination exemption medical certificates, but vaccination exemptions should not even exist!
As AHPRA confirmed to me in September 2021:
"Practitioners have an obligation to obtain informed consent for treatment, including vaccination. Informed consent is a person's voluntary decision about health care that is made with knowledge and understanding of the benefits and risks involved." (My emphasis.)
As the Department of Health and Aged Care advised me in November 2022:
"Informed consent should be obtained for every COVID-19 vaccination, as per usual consent procedures for other vaccinations."
The Australian Immunisation Handbook states:
"Valid consent is the voluntary agreement by an individual to a proposed procedure, which is given after sufficient, appropriate and reliable information about the procedure, including the potential risks and benefits, has been conveyed to that individual." (My emphasis.)
As stated by the Australian Law Reform Commission, under common law:
"As part of their duty of care, health professionals must obtain 'informed consent' by providing such information as is necessary for the patient to give consent to treatment, including information on all material risks of the proposed treatment..." (My emphasis.)
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare Fact Sheet for Clinicians on Informed consent in health care acknowledges key principles for informed consent, including:
"...adults have the right to determine what will be done to their bodies and what healthcare treatments they will undergo."
and
"For there to be valid informed consent, the person consenting must... Have enough information about their condition, treatment options, the benefits and risks relevant to them, and alternative options for them to make an informed decision to consent. This includes the opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns."
Again quoting the Australian Law Reform Commission:
"At common law, all competent adults can consent to and refuse medical treatment. If consent is not established, there may be legal consequences for health professionals".
Mark Butler, as I have asked you previously in the email thread below, why should anyone have to obtain an exemption to not have a vaccination, given that they are supposed to be voluntarily giving their informed consent to this medical intervention, or opting to decline the intervention if they so choose?
This is a most serious situation, with general practitioner Mark Hobart being suspended for two years on highly questionable grounds!

I had not been aware of exemptions being required until the covid era when I started to take notice of the vaccine fanaticism. I could not believe in many parts of America they used both medical and religious exemptions and it is shocking to me that they were allowed to happen. No one should have to give an explanation on why they refuse a medical intervention regardless of its nature and if refused there must be no penalisation or pressure applied either social, personal or financial to the individual because of the refusal. We must have control over our own bodies and what is put into them for if we don't then this means they belong to others to do with what they will. I find this very sinister and we should all be very worried.
